Orissa and the Oriya Diaspora in the Americas and Across the Globe

- Bridging Past to Present and Building the Future Together -

"The Seminars are aimed at translating ideas into reality; featuring topics of practical usefulness and long term value beyond the convention, and most importantly, an enjoyable and valuable experience for our Oriya Diaspora in the Americas and our mother land Orissa."

The 40th convention seminar is organized into four tracks, each with distinguished speakers and delegates dealing with issues for the development of Orissa and Oriya Communities.

Orissa Development:

This track will feature innovative initiatives under implementation, new ideas, and contributions by members of the Oriya community in Education, Industry and Rural Development (NGO, Environmental Hazard of Industrialization) leading to further development of our home state of Orissa.

Women’s Forum:

This track will feature brainstorming sessions on women's lives in Orissa and the Diaspora, women’s empowerment in Orissa, and helping women in crisis.

NRO Community:

This track will feature discussions and demonstrations on health and wellness viz. Yoga, propagating Oriya culture (Language, Literature & Music) overseas, virtual one Oriya family & integrating next generation. The track will also feature a moderated entrepreneurship round table, where panelists will share their views and success stories covering technology, venture funding and legal issues. Please visit virtual one Oriya family at: http://OneFamily.seedsnet.org.

Youth Forum:

This track will feature the Kalinga Youth Entrepreneurship Competition, a youth mentorship round table - to encourage and support our younger generation to carve a niche for themselves, and a youth workshop (tips and lessons learned on applying and selecting a college, the overall college experience, and resume writing/interviewing).
