The Orissa Society of the Americas (OSA) is an organization whose goals is to promote the culture of the Indian state of Orissa in the United States and to facilitate the exchange of information between Orissa and North America. Founded in 1969, OSA is a non-political, non-profit, and voluntary association registered as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization in the United States. The organization has now spread into fourteen regional chapters, which operate as a social umbrella for different regions in the US. The chapters facilitate various activities such as religious festivals, social get together, cultural events and participate in the cultural life of the local community as representatives of Oriya culture.
Annual convention which aims to bring members of the Oriya diasporas across North America together to celebrate their ethnic culture is the centerpiece of the OSA's activities.40th Convention is a major milestone on OSA history, is expected to be the largest convention spread for three days, completely packed with Cultural Events, Socio-Economic Seminars, Literacy invocations, social networking, youth enrichment and various symposium of interest for our members
